Privacy Policy for Jelly TV
Effective date: 28 July 2026
Jelly TV is an iOS app that connects to a Jellyfin server that you choose. It can also connect to a Seerr server that you choose. This policy explains how the app handles data.
Data the app uses
The app uses these data types to provide its functions:
- Your Jellyfin server address, user ID, and access token.
- Your Jellyfin user name and password during sign-in. The app does not store your password.
- Your Seerr server address and either a Seerr session credential or API key, if you connect Seerr.
- Library data, media details, artwork, search terms, playback activity, and media-request data from your selected servers.
- Downloaded media, downloaded artwork, download details, and playback position for offline playback.
Your Jellyfin and Seerr credentials are stored in the Apple Keychain on your device. Offline media and its related data are stored in the app's local storage.
How the app uses data
The app uses data only to:
- Sign you in to your selected server.
- Show your library, search results, and media details.
- Stream or download media.
- Save and report playback position to your Jellyfin server.
- Show, create, approve, or decline Seerr media requests when you connect a Seerr server.
Data sharing
Jelly TV does not send your data to the app developer. The app does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking SDKs.
The app sends data to the Jellyfin and Seerr servers that you choose. Your server administrator controls those services and their privacy practices. The app can also request media artwork from image servers specified by your selected services, including The Movie Database image service when Seerr provides an image path.
Your network provider and the operators of these servers can receive network information, such as your IP address, when the app connects to them.
Data retention and deletion
You can sign out of Jellyfin to remove the Jellyfin credential from the Apple Keychain. You can disconnect Seerr to remove its stored credential from the Apple Keychain.
Signing out does not remove offline downloads. Remove each download in the app to remove its offline media, artwork, and download record. To delete account data that is stored on a Jellyfin or Seerr server, contact the administrator of that server.
Security
The app uses the Apple Keychain for stored credentials. Use HTTPS for remote servers. The app can connect to HTTP servers on a local network when you allow this during setup. HTTP does not protect data in transit.
Children
Jelly TV does not knowingly collect personal data from children for the app developer. Access to media and server accounts is controlled by the Jellyfin and Seerr servers that you choose.
Changes to this policy
We can update this policy when the app changes. The current policy will show a new effective date when it changes.
